Every athlete nowadays is training hard. â€‹

Practice is the minimum as the number of training opportunities and coaches steadily increases. If you're not doing ALOT of extra work, it can be easy to fall behind.

Zubak Athletic Performance was founded on synthesizing the best training practices, simplifying them so that they are sustainable and applicable to all athletes in any training situation, and then bringing them to you as many ways as we possibly can. We don't aim to make things more complicated or work harder than we need to, our goal is to be your #1 resource along your training journey.

We work smarter, so you can player harder!

THE
INNOVATOR

Matt Zubak grew up like a lot of kids, with big league dreams. Coming from a small town in Southern New Jersey, there weren't a lot of training resources, but Matt did everything he could to put himself in a position to succeed. Finding some early success in the weight room as a powerlifter, he leaned heavily on this style of training. As an offensive lineman it seemed natural, and he was pretty good in High School.

Once Matt got to college, he realized that his relative size & strength wasn't a match for the more explosive & actually athletic guys he had to go against. Lifting slow & heavy had made him slow & heavy.

From that point Matt took a deep dive into learning more about training; what SHOULD he have done to maximize his potential? Clearly lifting heavy (at least the way he did it) wasn't it. He majored in Exercise Science as it fit in with his goal of figuring out the optimal plan. After finishing school Matt worked at various local training centers, Velocity Sports Performance, Parisi Speed School, etc. From there he was writing program for the Arizona Rattlers in the AFL, and eventually in charge of multiple teams at the University of Maryland & Stanford University. Over time Matt developed a thought process that shown to produce low injury numbers while continuing to perform & compete at the highest level. His results speak for themselves; he has helped produce more than 40 NFL players, 5 NCAA wrestling All-Americans, several Olympic competitors & hundreds of D-I scholarship athletes.
